About ATAE ...

ATAE is a private training organisation established in 1998 to fulfil an unmet industry need for quality Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) and Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) training.

ATAE is a subsidiary of the Royal Queensland Aero Club (RQAC), and occupies Hangar 1, at Brisbane's Archerfield Aerodrome. Archerfield is steeped in aviation history and tradition and today is the home of numerous general aviation operational and maintenance businesses. The active aerodrome location and the clean, well equipped facilities at ATAE combine to provide a stimulating work and study environment, and offer the aviation engineering student an opportunity second to none in the region.

It is the aim of the management and staff to provide the genuine student at ATAE with the very best opportunity to achieve. The program at ATAE emphasises the practical application of knowledge and skills. To this end, ample demonstrations and personal assistance will be provided to aid students in developing their own skills and abilities. ATAE's mission statement is:

"To support the current and future maintenance training requirements of the aviation industry by providing expert engineering training to the highest quality standards to meet our customers' needs."

ATAE is dedicated to maintaining the highest professional standards in design, delivery, and marketing of aircraft engineering training. ATAE provides effective and efficient training services to its students with the intention to safeguard and perpetuate the high standards of the aviation industry.

ATAE's aim is to produce skilled trade persons using our own expertise and the National Competency Standards established by the aviation industry.

Staff at ATAE have been specifically chosen for their teaching skills and industry experience, making them specialists in their fields. Instructors with specific trade qualifications and holding a Certificate IV in Workplace assessment conduct all classes. Instruction may be in the form of practical or theory classes. In addition various field visits are also undertaken during the course as required.

ATAE's facilities at Archerfield feature, aircraft from General Aviation through to aircraft restorations for community museums. This enables our students to fully comprehend the complexities of aircraft construction and maintenance. Our well equipped workshops ensure the highest of standards are met and maintained during all phases of theory and practical classes.

Through our Industry Management Committee, a high level of interaction exists between ATAE and the aviation industry ensuring currency to all our programmes. It is through these programmes that we are currently implementing a Total Quality Management System to better serve our clients.
