Brian Waring

Employment Highlights 

As Chief Engineer of Flight Maintenance for 12 years Brian was responsible for the airworthiness of 23 private, training and charter aircraft which flew safely for more than 85,000 hours. He has held a private pilots licence for 29 years. His varied career gives him experience with jet engines in the RAAF, general aviation with the Royal Flying Doctor Service, 2 years in Europe with Rothmans Aerobatic Team, 3 years with helium airships as well as some time with executive jets, charter aircraft and a regional airline. Brian is passionate about aircraft maintenance.  He is aware of the need to encourage and train a new generation of aircraft maintenance engineers. The aircraft industry needs young, enthusiastic people with an enquiring mind, resourceful agile bodies and the commitment, integrity and determination to keep aircraft flying safely.  ATAE is committed to providing the best possible training for aircraft maintenance engineers.

Aircraft Experience:

32 years of mechanical and electrical maintenance on Cessna, Piper, Beechcraft, Partenavia, Grumman, Mooney, Pitts, AI600 Airships, Metroliners, BAE J41and Falcon 10. He also has experience as a designee inspector for the airworthiness of various Homebuilt Aircraft..

 

Shane Rochford

Employment Highlights:

Shane brings over 29 years experience with the Royal Australian Air Force working mainly on the F-111 and Mirage aircraft. Shane has had overseas experience in Asia, England and the United States. In his career he has held a variety of positions including OH&S and Quality Manager, OH&S and SMS Auditor, Maintenance Manager, Project Liaison Technician, Instructor and Avionics Team Leader.

 

Mark Morton

Employment Highlights:

24 years experience with the Royal Australian Air Force. Six years as an engine fitter on various military aircraft and 18 years as a flight engineer flying Caribou (6,500 hours) transport aircraft. Mark has achieved extensive training experience, in particular as the Officer in Charge of Flight Engineer Standardisation and Assessment. Mark also saw active service during the East Timor campaign.

 

 

 

 

 

Janet Phillips

Employment Highlights:

Prior to joining the Royal Queensland Aero Club in 1999, Janet worked for a large Australia wide franchise group. She is also an owner-operator of a successful private business. Her administrative skills and accounting experience play an important role with ATAE ensuring the day-to-day running of the organisation is maintained. Janet's solid accounting background contributes to the successful management of ATAE.

 

Tracy Stewart
Position:
Office Administrator

Employment Highlights:

Tracy has over 15 years experience in Administration. She was employed in a Financial Institutional Organisation as a Team Leader for the Off-Shore Investment Administration Department.

Also recently employed as an Education Project Officer in a Registered Training Organisation in Age Care dealing with Endorsed Enrolled Nurse Courses.

Lawrence Wood

Employment Highlights:

Lawrie has more than 36 years experience in the aviation industry. This includes over 16 years in aircraft maintenance, starting as an apprentice with Qantas Airways and working as a LAME for Qantas in Sydney and Melbourne and more recently as a LAME at Avalon, Victoria working on Qantas' outsourced heavy maintenance program. Lawrie also spent 20 years as a Flight Engineer for Ansett Airlines and the Ansett International with over 8500 hours flying time.
